DETAILS the V1.2 update of the RS7000 made the rs having multimode filters and real easy to use grid mode (chase light seq). it is a good arrangement tool still. easy to use. 3 envs for pitch,filter, amp. and one LFO, as most Yamaha romplers do.. the remix function allows rearrangement of sample slices (like a random recycle mode), midi divide function in realtme. FX are there but not as cool integrated as in the X-electribes.
DETAILS Die V1.2 Software der RS7000 greift hier, daher ist der Lauflichtmode oder Realtime Recording kein Problem mit 2 dynamischen Pads und Multimodefilter. Arrangieren ist sehr angenehm gelöst und 2 MIDI outs können auch externe Synthesizer ansteuern. eingebaute 4MB werden leider bei ausbau auf 64MB nicht mehr nutzbar. cool: Remix rearrangiert Samples (Recycle-artiges Sample-zerteilen möglich) um, damit lassen sich interessante neuzusammenstellungen machen auch per Zufall. es gibt auch eine musikalische midi-zeitverschiebung, die notenlängen einzelner spuren verändern kann. fx sind für eine groovebox ok, aber nicht so schön integriert wie zB die in den X-electribes.

VERSION very cool from V1.2, below it's like the rm1x, no real time step sequencing..
VERSION ab 1.2 sehr brauchbar.. darunter rm1x niveau. - OS updates gibt es immer hier (1.22 ist aktuell in 12/2002): mit: * direkter Wechsel in die EDIT, Step Record und Grid Mode während des Spielens * Direktanwahl der Sektionen K-P über SHIFT und Keyboard Pads * Erweiteter Record Modus: Umschalten von Record zu Playback in Echtzeit * Erweiteter Grid Step Record Mode: Umschalten der Tracks während des Spielens, Mute / UnMute der weiteren Tracks * 12 weitere Filtertypen plus neuer Distance Parameter dürfte also heute wesentlich interessanter sein..

Yamaha wasn't the first synth maker but after the monsterous and heavywight CS80 the DX7 was a little revolution in sound (FM synthesis and much more realistic sounds) and sold very very well, later innovations like physical modeling did not even hit the sales of later FM synths like the SY99 or FS1R. Yamaha owns Steinberg and SCI (Sequential Circuits) and the Prophet name and had about 40% of Korg for a time.

THE MANUFACTURER
Yamaha war schon früh Musikinstrumentenhersteller, stieg aber erst 1974 mit einem Synthesizer ein, wirklich aufmerksam wurde man nach dem CS80 Monstersynthesizer vorallem durch den sehr gut verkauften DX7, dessen FM die Klänge der noch analogen Welt die Leute an "realistische Sounds" und irre dynamisch spielbar denken lies. Innovation gab es auch mit dem Physical Modelling Synthesizer VP1 und VL1, jedoch waren die kommerziell bei Weitem nicht so erfolgreich. Yamaha gehört heute auch Steinberg. Sie waren auch eine Zeit lang Eigner von Korg (40%) und hält den Namen Prophet / Sequential Circuits
