ABOUT Like EX5 with half the number of voices. a real multi synthesis engine, since they are different they offer different numbers of LFOs, ENVs and voices depending on the DSP power. they are: VL + AN + FDSP + rompler (AWM2) and Drums. AN is identical to the AN1x (virtual analog), VL is a physical modeling synth (VL70m), AWM is a standard rompler and the use of own samples and FDSP is a sample player plus DSP based waveshaping, feedback and PWM - kind of results.
ABOUT Wie EX5 mit halber Stimmenzahl. Eine wahre EWS "Eierlegendewollmilchsau" mit verschiedenen Syntheseprinzipien, die unterschiedliche Strukturen und Stimmenanzahlen möglich machen. Daher kann auch keine absolute Anzahl von LFOs etc. gegeben werden. Es gibt die Klangerzeugungen: VL + AN + FDSP + rompler (AWM2) und Drums, AN ist mit dem AN1x identisch, der VL ist mit dem vl70m identisch. AWM ist ein Standard Rompler und lässt auch eigene Samples zu, dazu gibt es FDSP, eine sample-engine mit PWM,Feedback und Shaping-artigen Möglichkeiten.

DETAILS there are 4 Elements (in fact layers) of those synthesis engines. some can be combined or used once, others (sampler) can freely appear on any element. most elements got 2 or 3 envelopes and 2 LFOs per Element. Possible Combis in 4 Elements: VL+AN, AN + FDSP, VL + AWM, AN + AWM.
DETAILS es gibt 4 Elements, die jeweils eine Kombination der Synthesemodelle wiedergeben können. Daher ergeben sich zumeist 2-3 Hüllkurven pro Element mal 4 (Elements / Layer). So auch bei den LFOs. die wahl ist nicht ganz frei, samples (awm) kann man überall nutzen, FDSP jedoch nur ein mal pro 4er Layer. Kombi-Möglichkeiten in 4 Elements: VL+AN, AN + FDSP, VL + AWM, AN + AWM.

Yamaha wasn't the first synth maker but after the monsterous and heavywight CS80 the DX7 was a little revolution in sound (FM synthesis and much more realistic sounds) and sold very very well, later innovations like physical modeling did not even hit the sales of later FM synths like the SY99 or FS1R. Yamaha owns Steinberg and SCI (Sequential Circuits) and the Prophet name and had about 40% of Korg for a time.

THE MANUFACTURER
Yamaha war schon früh Musikinstrumentenhersteller, stieg aber erst 1974 mit einem Synthesizer ein, wirklich aufmerksam wurde man nach dem CS80 Monstersynthesizer vorallem durch den sehr gut verkauften DX7, dessen FM die Klänge der noch analogen Welt die Leute an "realistische Sounds" und irre dynamisch spielbar denken lies. Innovation gab es auch mit dem Physical Modelling Synthesizer VP1 und VL1, jedoch waren die kommerziell bei Weitem nicht so erfolgreich. Yamaha gehört heute auch Steinberg. Sie waren auch eine Zeit lang Eigner von Korg (40%) und hält den Namen Prophet / Sequential Circuits
