ABOUT the basic fundamental structure of the ASR is like the EPS/ASR samplers and TS, SD and VFX synthesizers. it has also the transwave function as basic concept, which sounds close to wavetable synthesis (short scan through a micro-sample), the filters have no resonance but it has an excellent FX processor. EPS16+: mono samples / 2MB max optional flash rom, ASR: stereo / 16MB max.
ABOUT Eigentlich ist die Struktur der neueren Serie bei Ensoniq immer gleich ASR / EPS-Sampler-Struktur, die mit TS und VFX/SD Serie als Synthesizer weitergeführt wurden, er hat eine Transwave - Möglichkeit schon an Bord, die Wavetable-artige Klänge möglich machen, im Resonzfilter gibt es nicht, dafür einen exzellenten Effektprozessor. EPS16+: mono samples / 2MB max, ASR: stereo / 16MB max. läd sounds wärend des spielens "load while play".

DETAILS per voice there are 2 VCOS that have (each) 1 LFO, 3x ENVs and 1 filter, so one layer is 2 OSCs with 6 ENVS and 2 filters , there are 4 layers (called sound), thats a LOT!! the transwave function works like a long sample that is being scanned to get only ONE cycle to "scan" through by envelope.. the result is very much like a wavetable.. very cool digital FX by prosoniq and waveboy for multi delays, reverb, real time stretching, reso-filters and room simulators, some allow very cool lofi FX and digital stuff.. (extra FX not included by ensoniq), loads sounds while playing..
DETAILS jede Stimme besteht aus 2x OSC , 2x3 Hüllkurven,2xfilter und 2x1 LFOs.. es gibt Kombinationen der Filter pro Layer aus LPF und HPF ohne Resonanz. Jede OSC-Struktur kann als Layer noch vervierfacht werden. Die Transwaves werden aus dem RAM geholt und sind Einzelzyklen, die microfein durchfahren werden, wie in einem größeren Sampleverlauf. es ja einfach samples. hat sehr umfangreiche loop möglichkeiten. Die Prosoniq und Wavebox Effekte sind sehr flexibel und bieten von reso-filtern über real time stretching (hat auch ein rechenfenster ,was tolle LoFi FX möglich macht) bis raum simulation,reverb, mehrfachdelays und viele digitale FX. (nicht beim sampler dabei, war extra zu bekommen)

Bought by Emu (Emu owned by Creative Labs), originally founded in early 80ies, also were into soundchips (SID!) and then started to go into the sampler and synth business. they offered one of the first affordable samplers (mirage) and innovative synthesizers. Was the only manufacturer of polyphonic pressure keyboards.

Von Emu aufgekauft und Erfinder des polyphonen Aftertouch (Pressure), leider verkauft Emu weder Synthesizer noch diese Keyboards. Ensoniq war einer recht innovative Firma mit Wurzel bei Soundchips (SID!) und stellten einen der ersten bezahlbaren Sampler her (Mirage) und hybride Synthesizer etc. Das qualitativ gute Paris Recording System wurde leider eingestampft wie alles andere auch.
