	cool Sample and Hold unit, a Real one - LFOs are VERY fast (1khz), all OSC waves can be set in symmetry. routings for sync and FM with 3 OSCs (hard/soft), LFO are being routed in the mod-matrix and the waveform is set in the matrix, too!	Sample and Hold Einheit (eine richtige), sehr schnelle LFOs bis 1khz. OSC-wellenformen können in der Symmetrie eingestellt werden. Verschaltungen bei Sync (hard/soft) und FM mit 3 OSCs (!), LFOs werden in der Matrix geroutet und haben erst dort eine Wellenform.

	nice FX but always with some plastic in it..	FX ohne Ende, allerdings mit reichlich VA-Plastikschwurbel..

THE ALESIS ION / MICRON HAS A QUITE "ANDROMEDA'ish" structure

but sounds very different..
alesis ion VA Synth some filters are implemented saying "moog 24lpf" or oberheim lpf,bpf,lpf, 8pole types, jupiter 8 and more (formant type filters).. it doesn't sopund a6, but for a VA it sound very good.. imo the best choice for those who can't afford the andromeda..
1000hz max speed (cool! only the waldorf Q has more: 2600hz) lfos (2x), and 3 ENVs, 2 filters routable (parallel,serial and more..) some stereo modes for filter routing, envs: quite nice, with curves.. quite a6-like.. in structure. same machine as 3oct-key with 3 knobs very tiny and small for live use and take away called alesis MICRON is available for about 450€ - the ion is around €750 - both are completely the same sound engine!

,uuhm quite baaad messe (fair) recording and "unmotivated", I almost did not hear anything.. so I just pressed some knobs and hoped it is better than nothing..) audiodemo ion and micron click here (ah, and don't tell me it suXX, it does!) -
It is very silly, I could not hear anything and just stepped through some things .. You hear fm'ed filters first (lfos at 1khz and changing) and in the later part some silly preset variations ;) My worst demo ever!!.. Really..
there are some things that have not been available so far: FX and some filter models.
listen yourself if you find the filters analog'ish.. ;) I wasn't sure this is close to the synth it says to be.. hmm.. modmatrix, fm, sync (soft & hard).. 8 voices.,unison mode uses 2,4,all voices.

ALESIS MANUFACTURER INFO:

strange, they always had real usable things, they invented the ADAT recorders and a series of well known FX boxes. the best known one and now discontinued is the 16 voiced real analogue Andromeda, which drew much more attention to Alesis as a synth manufacturer who instroduced VA synths later. today they changed more to the DAW kind of products which are still interesting like more affordable CC boxes for DAW and Mixing. after the release of Andromeda they went into insolvency and where bought by Numark, the DJ mixer company and the A6 dropped the price but the Andro team was fired. anyway it was the most remarkable product of Alesis ever made. there's no other 16 voice poly synth of that complexity around and will sooner or later be mentioned along with the Jupiter 8, the Matrx 12 or the Prophet 5. So thanks to Dave Bryce and Mike Peake (and others) for struggeling to make it real and hope there will be a second generation "Andromeda" incl. 3 Octave, Desktop and Rack Verison with faster LFO as they all wish.

LEGEND (english)..
1) the structure on layered synths with combination algorithms (layers that interact like on Rolands JV and JD Serie) will add, so if each layer has one LFO it will be displayed as 4 LFOs - on drummachines all envs will counted in: means: if there are 6 parts with Decay you will find 6 ENVs plus 6xD in the Database.. on nwer groovemachines it stands for ALL so ANY parts has decay then..
2) if the machine accepts midi controllers CTRL will read -midi controller-, if it's real time sysex it will read -midi sysex-
3) on drum machines any voice pad will count as one voice, so the xbase is 3 voice with 3 OSCs.. in fact EACH drum sound is one OSC in my database. so if you sort -OSC-wise drum machines will be listed first.
4) if it's a synth family some versions may only differ in keyboard or rom size, you'll find most of them under -versions- and tech text. general: multi of course tells the number of DIFFERENT sounds at the same time, so duophonic is still one, splitable keyboards are 2times multi and most newer ones are 16times multi.. AT/VEL tells if the machine actually has pads or keys that respond to velocity or aftertouch or poly-pressure (pressure instead of aftertouch), some machines accept dynamics externally, so this refers to the pads and keys on the box.. images can always be enlarged by clicking on them!

1) es wird bei Layerstrukturen, die miteinander interagieren alles aufaddiert. bei offenen layers wird nur ein layer angegeben, so kommt es dazu, dass bei einigen instrumenten zB 1 oder 2 LFOs pro Stimme, bei anderen 8 LFOs pro gesamtlayer zustande kommen wie bei den JV und JD Synthesizern von Roland (da hier Ringmod und Filter unterschiedlich gerouted sind!!) - bei den Huellkurven werden auch die von Drummachines angezeigt, zB wenn es 6 parts mit decay gibt sind das 6xD typ 6 ENVs.. steht es nur ein mal da gilt es pro part oder fuer alles zusammen!
2) wenn der Synthesizer midi controller versteht, steht das auch so hinter -Ctrl-, wenn er in SysEx realtime-steuerbar ist steht midi sysex da, nur midi bedeutet keine komplette echtzeitsteuerung weit ueber ein paar standardcontroller hinaus..
3) bei drummaschinen und grooveboxen zaehle ich jeden drumsound als Oszillator, daher werden viele Drummachines immer oben stehen ,wenn man nach OSC-Anzahl sucht. Wenn es also 10 Drumpads gibt, steht unter OSCs 14, sofern er das auch wirklich gleichzeitig wiedergeben kann.
4) hin und wieder gibt es eine Synthesizerfamilie,die sehr aehnliche Daten hat, dann stehen sie zusammen und die Versionen unten drin , Keyboardgroessen oder Rom-Groessen stehen an entsprechender Stelle im Text. generell: multi gibt an, wie viele unterschiedliche sounds gleichzeitig moeglich sind, duophonie bleibt also bei 1fach, splitbarkeit waere 2fach multitimbral und neuere sind idR 16fach multitimbral. AT/VEL sagt, ob es anschlagdynamik oder Aftertouch ueber interne moeglichkeiten gibt, speziell bei drummachines ist nur velocity da, wenn die pads auch dynamisch sind! intern sind viele maschinen dennoch dynamisch. pressure bedeutet poly-pressure, haben nur wenige! Bilder koennen immer durch click vergroessert werden!
